Foldwater is a puzzle game for Android published by Certyneo under the Djoox Studio brand, based in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France ("Djoox Studio", "we"). Full publisher details are on our legal notice. This policy explains what data is processed when you play Foldwater, why, by whom, and what your rights are. Foldwater is intended for players aged 13 and over.
In short
- Foldwater asks for no account, no name and no email address.
- Your progress stays on your phone.
- The game shows ads served by Google AdMob. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, you choose whether ads may be personalised, and you can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy.
- The "No Ads" purchase is handled by Google Play. We never see your payment details.
1. Controller and contact
Djoox Studio is the controller for the data processed by the game itself. For any question or to exercise your rights, write to contact@djoox.com.
Google is responsible for its own processing for advertising (AdMob) and payments (Google Play), under its own policies.
2. What we do not collect
We run no server for Foldwater. We do not receive your name, email address, contacts, photos or precise location. There is no player account and no chat between players.
3. Data kept on your phone
The game stores on your device your progress (levels, stars, daily streak, hints), your settings (sound, music, vibration, language, daily reminder) and the fact that the "No Ads" purchase has been made. This data is not sent to us. It is deleted when you uninstall the game or clear its data in Android settings.
The game does not turn on Android's automatic backup to your Google account. If you transfer the data of your old phone to a new one, Android may copy it directly from one device to the other; it does not go through any server of ours.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Foldwater is free thanks to advertising served by Google AdMob, a service of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) and Google LLC.
To serve, measure and cap ads and to prevent fraud, Google's SDK may process:
- your Android advertising ID and the app set ID;
- your IP address, used to infer an approximate location (country, region);
- device information (model, Android version, language, carrier);
- ad interactions (impressions, taps, videos watched) and SDK diagnostics.
Personalised ads are shown only if you agree, where consent is required. Otherwise Google may show non-personalised or limited ads, which use less data (notably for frequency capping, measurement and fraud prevention). You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings (Google › Ads).
How Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. The list of ad partners is shown in the consent form. Foldwater uses no ad mediation: the only advertising SDK in the game is Google's.
5. Your consent
On first launch in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a Google consent form (certified under the IAB Europe TCF framework) asks for your choice before any ad is shown. You can accept, refuse, or choose purpose by purpose. Refusing is as easy as accepting and does not stop you from playing. You can change your mind at any time in Settings › Privacy.
Elsewhere, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings, and turn off ad personalisation in your Google account settings.
6. The "No Ads" purchase
The purchase is processed by Google Play under Google's terms and privacy policy. The game only keeps on your phone the information that the purchase was made, to remove interstitial ads and to restore it after a reinstall. We never see your name or payment method. Google Play gives us aggregated sales reports and, for accounting, order information.
Unity Technologies, which provides the in-app purchase module used by the game, receives technical information about each purchase attempt made from the version distributed on Google Play (product, price, Google Play order number and receipt, device model and language, Android and game version, and the IP address as for any internet request). This information contains neither your name nor your payment method.
7. Crash reports and Google Play statistics
If you allowed it in your phone settings, Android and Google Play send crash and performance reports to Google. We see them in aggregated form in the Google Play Console to fix bugs. They do not let us identify you.
8. Recipients and transfers outside the European Union
Advertising and payment data is processed by Google, which may transfer it to the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and uses standard contractual clauses. Purchase information sent to Unity Technologies may also be processed outside the European Union, notably in the United States, under Unity's own safeguards.
9. Retention
Data on your phone: until you uninstall the game or clear its data. Advertising data: according to Google's retention periods (see the link in section 4). Messages you send us: no more than 3 years after our last exchange. Transaction data: as required by accounting law.
10. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Since we hold no data that identifies you, most requests concern Google: for ads, use Settings › Privacy and Android settings; for purchases, your Google account. For anything concerning us, write to contact@djoox.com; we reply within one month.
You may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL, or with the authority of your country.
11. Age
Foldwater is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from a child under 13. If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe your child has used the game, write to contact@djoox.com.
12. Security
Communication between Google's SDK and its servers is encrypted. The game sends no data to servers of ours: we have none.
13. Changes
If this policy changes (for example if an online feature is added), the new version will be published on this page with its date, and announced in the game if the change is significant.
